Time for a Change (Part 1) | DYE It Yourself

11:12:00 AM

It all came in stages. First it was 'white hair' alert. Then, it was just boredom of how I looked, of my hair looking unhealthy and my tumultuous mood swings. The combination led me to take action.
What did I do? I decided to dye my hair dark brown. While grocery shopping, I got a light bulb moment and thought let me just change, maybe I'll feel a bit better about myself.

I got L'Oréal Casting Crème Gloss Dark Brown. I've previously used the same line but different color.
Last year, I went for Mahogany and I loved it! This time I wanted to stay within my natural hair tones but a tiny bit darker.

I do find it a bit dark. In daylight, the color looks pretty accurate. At home, hubby keeps looking at me like I have black hair lol He hasn't grasped the visual idea yet, but I know that it will get lighter after a couple of washes. I didn't always know how to dye my hair at home before, using those store-bought boxes. Since last year that I got the hang of it, this temporary solution for a makeover has been my bliss.

On another note, after my first visit to The Face Shop, aside from the couple of things I bought, they gave me some free samples to try out. One of which was a Mango Seed Cleansing Foam.

The Face Shop Mango Seed Cleansing Foam (Full-sized Product)

I actually tried out this morning and it was utter perfection. When I first opened the small packet, I squeezed out the foam, I thought this is too little. But once I started washing my face, the quantity was more than enough and really felt the effect. The smell is very settle and not at all overpowering. The cleansing effect is noticeable right away. Foaminess! I might consider buying the full-sized product.

I have a couple of other samples to try out. So I'll make my choice afterwards.
